Why studying fashion business with Lisa Ceruto will help you get a job in the industry

– [Interviewer] So what’s the
difference between your course and one of the more
well known institutions? – Well, firstly, it’s
rare that fashion business is being offered as a stand alone. Certainly, not the way I teach. It’s usually a part of a longer course, because it’s usually accredited, they have to teach certain criteria, which is often irrelevant or out of date. I’m offering stand alone modules and industry based, it’s up to date and
it’s extremely relevant. We do it in real time, and it’s online, so you don’t have to travel in traffic and then find a park. I’ve had a lot of
feedback from my students who have gone into
industry after my course, and telling me that they know so much more than the university trained counterparts, which is very satisfying for me. They’ll say things like, “Hey they studied at,” you know, “XYZ College.” and I said, “Okay, we’re going to
go into a PSA meeting.” and they said, “Oh, what’s that?” And well, “Post Seasonal
Analysis meeting.” “What’s that? Never heard of it.” So, my students are ready to hit the ground running. Another student, who I helped get a job while studying with me, came to an night class and said, “I can’t believe that I’m doing at work, exactly what we’re doing here!” So, if you have always
wanted to work in fashion, but you’re not sure where to start, or you wanto to work in a head office, or start your own business, or maybe you’ve started your own business and your own brand, but you’re not getting
the sales that you want, you have to know the fundamentals, and that’s what I teach you. I teach you in a way that makes sense. I build upon it, step by step. You choose a demographic,
and a range idea, and then we take you
through the entire process, we take that range all the way through. I show you how to identify where you sit in the marketplace, and who your competitors are. You identify your customer, and build an in-depth profile. I’ll teach you how to plan out your range. We go through production, and what that looks like
in a sustainable model, hugely important, of course now. I teach you digital marketing,
including social media. You’re taught strategies for eCommerce, and basic financial planning. Depending on where your interests are, I can take you through fashion history, fabrics and textiles, career applications, including
cover letter, resume, a 30-second elevator pitch, and most importantly, interview skills. I really do get you job-ready.
